The Darl is really two locations. Upstairs in the main galleries is the permanent collection. This includes the international gallery with art and artifacts from Africa, India, Asia and Oceania. The expanded Asia gallery focuses on history and tradition through furniture and carvings. The Alaska gallery features whale bones, Native art and pictures and stories of the last frontier. The Childrens gallery is a mix of costumes, visual art and memorabilia created by and for our host.
The downstairs is a full working cabaret theater that seats about 120. This space is used for events, meetings, live performances and musical presentations. So far this year the theater has hosted GRL PWR, in celebration of National women’s history month. A book launch by a Cleveland Author, and Bandolesque, a unique burlesque show with a full band. Future plans include more theater, musical performances and spoken word events.
